Site Redesign Recommended Guidelines
If you are in the process of redesigning a website for your client, here are some recommendations from the Alpha SEO Team:
- Make sure the new domain is successfully live and the domain pointing has been successfully implemented for all URL versions [HTTP vs HTTPS vs http://www vs https://www].
- 301 redirect should be placed from the old domain to a new one, including internal page level redirects from the old site to the new one. Please note that if the old domain is penalized or has a bad history, then it’s not recommended to put 301.
- SSL must be installed successfully.
- Mandatory SEO codes such as Google Analytics, Google Search console [Meta Verification], Bing Meta Verification, Sitemaps updating, Robots, Schema, and Canonical tags must be added (Alpha SEO can help with this of we have sufficient website access)
- There should not be any broken links.
- New site must be submitted in Google search console for quick indexing. (Alpha SEO can help with this of we have sufficient website access).
