AI Brand Visibility

AI Brand Visibility

What It Measures

AI Brand Visibility reflects how well a business can be discovered, understood, and cited by AI search platforms such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity.

While traditional SEO focuses on rankings in search results, AI Brand Visibility focuses on whether AI systems can confidently reference a business when generating answers. If a brand is not cited by AI, it is effectively invisible in AI-driven search experiences.

Why It Matters
  • Buyers increasingly ask AI tools for recommendations instead of typing keywords

  • AI-generated answers rely on trusted, structured, and crawlable sources

  • Businesses without strong AI signals may be excluded even if they rank well organically

  • Early AI optimization builds long-term entity authority that compounds across platforms

Inside the AI Brand Visibility Dashboard
The AI Brand Visibility section of the Dashboard provides partners and their clients with a clear view of AI-powered performance across platforms. It combines crawlability diagnostics, visibility progress, query tracking, and competitive insights into a single interface.

The dashboard is designed to:

  • Identify technical and content gaps impacting AI discovery

  • Show where a brand appears (or does not appear) in AI results

  • Track improvements over time

AI Crawlability Checker

The AI Crawlability Checker evaluates whether AI systems can access, read, and correctly interpret a website.

The Crawlability Checker is calculated using 11 technical and content signals. It is not a simple tally of “passed” checks. Signals that directly impact AI comprehension and trust are weighted more heavily.
Heavily Weighted AI Signals Include:
  • Schema markup

  • FAQ content

  • Word count

  • HTTPS

  • llms.txt

Crawlability Signals Explained
HTTP Status (200 OK)

A “200 OK” status confirms a page loads successfully and can be accessed by crawlers. Pages returning errors or blocked via “no index or no follow” directives cannot be read or summarized by AI systems.

Load Performance

Load performance data is pulled from Google PageSpeed Insights. Faster-loading pages improve crawl efficiency and AI summarization accuracy.

Word Count

Word count indicates how thorough a page’s content is. Pages with fewer than 250 words often lack sufficient context for AI systems to understand services clearly. More complete content improves AI comprehension.

robots.txt

A robots.txt file instructs crawlers on which parts of a website should or should not be accessed. Proper configuration helps search engines and AI systems focus on the most important content.

llms.txt

An AI-specific directive file that provides guidance to large language models on how website content may be accessed or used. It functions similarly to robots.txt but is designed specifically for AI platforms.

Meta Robots

Page-level instructions that control whether individual pages can be indexed or ignored. Incorrect meta robot settings may unintentionally block AI platforms from accessing valuable content.

XML Sitemap

A structured list of important URLs that helps crawlers quickly discover, prioritize, and understand a website’s pages.

Schema Markup

Structured data that adds context about a business, its services, locations, and content. Schema helps AI platforms understand what a page represents, making it one of the strongest trust and clarity signals.

FAQ Schema

A schema type specifically designed for frequently asked questions and answers. When implemented, FAQ content is more easily surfaced and summarized by both search engines and AI platforms.

CDN or Security Blocking

Occurs when content delivery networks or security tools unintentionally block crawlers. When blocked, AI systems may be unable to access or interpret the site at all.

AI Visibility for Top Searched Queries

This section shows how often your business appears in AI-generated answers for the most common search prompts related to your industry or location. Each row represents a user query, and the checkmarks across platforms indicate whether your business is visible in that AI engine's response. This helps identify where your brand is gaining traction and which AI platforms may need optimization.

Each AI platform is evaluated independently.
For example:
  • Appearing in 6 out of 15 tested prompts equals a visibility score of 0.4

This helps partners demonstrate:

  • Current AI presence

  • Visibility gaps

  • Competitive performance

  • Progress over time

Competitor Insights

This section compares your AI visibility performance against key competitors. The list on the left shows the visibility percentage for each competitor, while the graph on the right tracks visibility trends over time. This helps you identify how your brand’s AI search presence changes weekly and how it stacks up against others in your market.

The Dashboard shows:
  • Which AI prompts currently include the brand

  • Which competitors are cited instead

  • How visibility compares within the same market

How AI platforms describe your Business

This section shows how major AI platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini understand and describe your business. It highlights the information these platforms have gathered including your about details, services, contact information, and customer testimonials helping you verify the accuracy and consistency of your brand’s online representation.
